Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate is a plant-based emulsifier used in cosmetics and skin care products to stabilize formulas. The product is a polyglycerol ester of Isostearic Acid, a mild fatty acid with 18 carbon atoms in a branched chain and it is used as an emulsifier (oil in water) in many cosmetic products such as detergents, sunscreens and deodorants. It has emollient properties and gives a silky touch to the formulations. It is an ingredient of natural origin and is completely biodegradable.

Polyglycerin-4 is obtained through saponification without solvent of vegetable oil (Brassica Campestris Oil and Sunflower Oil) to obtain Glycerol and polymerization of pure vegetable Glycerol.

Isostearic acid is obtained through saponification of vegetable Tall Oil without solvent and distillation.
